In order to be qualified to be a certified coach and consultant designated by The Knoxville Happiness Coalition, you will submit and accomplish the following:

  • Experience: Currently active in consulting and/or coaching: able to demonstrate that in three of the last five years coaching and/or consulting have been a significant part of his or her activity. Work experience in management for three to five years, can substitute for consulting/coaching experience.
  • Education: A degree from a four-year college (applicants may only claim academic degrees from colleges or universities accredited at the institutional or specialty level by accreditation bodies recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or a similar body in the case of international degrees).
  • References: Three satisfactory client evaluations from officers or executives of organizations.
  • Competence:  You must demonstrate your professional competence, that you are current in your areas of specialization, that you have applied your experience and that you have an understanding of the Knoxville Happiness Coalition coaching & consulting process as defined:
“Healthy Culture” which the Coalition defines as the golden standard of business ethics: with positive care for employees, customers, and investors/donors. The candidate must show proficiency in teaching and emulating specified modules.

  • Candidate for certification will actively participate in the development of a healthy culture initiative during their internship. This will include shadowing, and supervised execution of the tasks executed during the Knoxville Happiness Coalition’s consultation & coaching process with organizations.

    More specifically, the candidate for certification will complete a non-paid internship, shadowing Alexia Georghiou during consultation & coaching with organizations. Contracts the Knoxville Happiness Coalition executes include the following:

  •     Assessment of the organizational culture
  •     Coaching of management & the team
  •     Development of a long-term plan to create healthy change in the culture
  •     Focus on well-being of employees first
  •     Trainings

Candidate for certification needs to make themselves available for shadowing, up to 8 hours weekly during a 12 week process. This can be during the same project or an accumulation of projects, totaling 96 hours. The certification process to obtain the information and complete the internship will not exceed one year.
